we love being dramatic!

The Hong Kong Players is a charity, non-profit, community theatre organisation that provides high quality, free-of-charge performance opportunities both onstage and off to the English speaking community in Hong Kong. Our history dates back to 1844 with the Hong Kong Amateur Dramatic Club, Hong Kong Stage Club (1946) and Garrison Players (1948) delighting audiences with a wide arrange of performances from Pantos (1889) to Shakespeare. We provide opportunities to create, perform and promote community theatre in Hong Kong. We aim to engage a diverse community of performers and crew with performances, pantos, workshops, play readings, community projects and social events. Join our community now and be a part of something bigger!

Our space is affectionately known as “Spooky” because our first home was in a haunted church in Central Hong Kong. This is our third such home, and although it's not haunted, we decided to keep the moniker.
